It is that time of year where World Book Day is nearly upon us. On Thursday, 1st March, schools all over the UK will be urging students to get in to a good book.
Rob Jones of World of Words (WOW) spends his time encouraging children to enjoy reading, and he is keen to promote any positive literacy initiative.
Rob is a former pupil of both the Tonypandy Primary and Grammar schools and he has also worked at both the local Juniors and the SS Gabriel & Raphael RC outlet on Primrose Street. World of Words aims to engage and motivate children through the mediums of literacy and language. The programme also has a rewards element and this non-profit initiative runs on the basis of fundraising.
World Book Day on 1st March is an important literacy event on the calendar and WOW will be doing its bit on that date to promote reading skills. The WOW programme has involved over 2500 kids across 10 years and the its awards element is truly amazing. Only within the last week another family has had a fantastic free prize from WOW and their visit to Cardiff Castle was a joyous occasion.
Rob explained “The work continues but you can help with a donation to ensure more success stories. Please contact email@example.com and thanks for any support”.
