To celebrate the conclusion of the Fourteen project in Mid-Rhondda, Citrus Arts have created a spectacular free event in the form of a daytime street party at Clydach Lake on Saturday 7th July, 11:00am until 4:00pm!
This street party with a difference is inspired by the Anthology Project being run by Trealaw Village Trust and funded by the Fourteen Project which has involved local groups from Mid Rhondda in a series of creative writing and illustrating workshops to encourage the writing and creation of children’s storybooks.
Come along and step into these stories created by your community! The area at Cambrian Lakeside, Clydach will be transformed to create an immersive space and on the day families will find professional street entertainment, theatrical shows, live music, community performances, take part circus workshops and an interactive art trail around the lake featuring sculptures of characters from the books.
Stay tuned for exciting previews of what will be there on the day!
Fourteen is a Spirit of 2012 Trust programme, to extend the reach and legacy of the Olympic and Commonwealth Games tackling disadvantage in communities across the country. The programme encourages inclusivity, particularly for young people and people with disabilities, and enhances increased participation within the community.
