Did the earth move for you this afternoon?

The residents of Tonypandy certainly had an eventful afternoon today (17th February).

Despite the epicentre being located 20 kilometres north of Swansea, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit at approximately 2:30pm.

Immediately after the short event, social media lit up, with reports of the quake hitting as far as Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and Oxford!

South Wales Police are reminding people through social media that “there is no need to phone the emergency services unless you have something to report ie:- damage or injuries.”
